The company is expected to invest CNY1bn ($163m) into the solar projects, which will be spread over an area of about 530km².
Earlier in March 2013, Clenergy and its strategic partner CGN Solar Energy had inked an agreement with the city of Lijiang, for the development of solar projects, totaling 300MW.
According to the company, the 20MW initial phase of the project, located in Huaping’s Zhongxin Town, is expected to become operational in August 2014.
Huaping, with a dry-hot-valley climate, provides abundant solar energy resources for local solar power development, the company said.
Clenergy provides PV mounting products and solutions for commercial, residential and utility-scale customers. Through its partners, the company supplies products and solutions to more than 19 countries around the world.
