The partners are planning to invest about RUB3.9bn ($120m) in the development of the proposed solar PV project.

In addition, Clenergy and CGN Solar Energy will assist with the Lijiang government’s solar energy planning between 2013 and 2020. Major goals of this initiative include bringing advanced solar technologies to Lijiang and promoting solar applications in residential segment, and building integrated photovoltaic market sectors.
The 300MW PV project, which is Clenergy’s first project in southwest China, is considered to be a milestone.
The first phase of the project is expected to boost local economy, reduce pollution and create employment opportunities.
Lijiang has a strong potential for the development of solar energy projects as it a low-latitude and high-altitude location. It receives an average 2,530 hours of sunshine annually.
