The clean electricity generated at the solar farm will be used to power domestic water wells, a wastewater treatment plant, the Cinnamon Municipal Complex, Police Department, and several other facilities across the city.
The 3MW solar farm is slated for completion in May 2014 and is expected to lower around 100% purchases from the electric utility.
According to Chevron Energy Solutions, this solar project is its third project for the city over the past five years.
