Cinergy has revealed that James Turner has been appointed president of Cinergy Corp., responsible for all regulated operations. Lynn Good will become executive vice president and CFO, responsible for the company's financial and accounting operations. Both appointments are effective immediately.

Mr Turner will also be responsible for the company’s corporate development and strategic planning activities. In addition, he will remain on the Transition Steering Committee of senior executives from Cinergy and Duke Energy Corporation and will be responsible for coordinating all of Cinergy’s merger integration activities.

Mr Turner began his career at Cinergy in 1995 following 11 years in the practice of law and has held a number of positions of increasing responsibility since that time. Jim Turner has distinguished himself as an effective leader in every position he has held in this company, including most recently as CFO, said James Rogers, Cinergy’s chairman and CEO.

Ms Good joined Cinergy in 2003 after a career with the international accounting firms of Arthur Andersen and Deloitte & Touche. She has served most recently as the company’s vice president – finance and controller, responsible for accounting, tax, and budgets and forecasts.

The management moves come as Cinergy prepares to be integrated into Duke Energy following its $9.1 billion takeover earlier this year. The combined company, which will have a value of $36 billion and sales of $27 billion, will become one of the five largest energy suppliers in the US.
