The two power plant projects in the Chinese coastal city of Dafeng would have an installation capacity of 1,000MW each, and are expected to be operational by 2011. The project is subjected to the approval from the related regulatory authorities.
The company intends to raise its installed capacity to 21,000MW by the end of 2010, and to approximately 24,000MW by the end of 2011, from 12,981MW in 2008. During the financial year 2009, the company plans to augment its generation capacity by 5,000MW.
Bu Fansen, executive vice-president of China Resources Power, said: We are doing a feasibility study on the project, which has yet to be approved by the National Development and Reform Commission. We hope to complete the plant by 2011, but it will depend on when it is approved”, reported Reuters, quoting China Morning Post as its source.
