China BAK Battery, a global manufacturer of lithium-based battery cells, has said that its Tianjin facility has secured a new lithium-ion batteries supply contract from Geoby Electric Vehicle, an e-bike manufacturer in China.
The contract requires China BAK to supply 1,000 units of lithium-ion high-power batteries to Geoby Electric for manufacturing electric bicycles.
The battery units will be integrated into the bicycles and undergo performance testing, following which, the company expects to receive additional orders from Geoby Electric to expand its reach in the evolving electric vehicle industry in China.
China BAK Battery CEO Xiangqian Li said that as the electric vehicles industry continues to experience significant growth, there is an increasing need for reliable, high-quality suppliers of lithium-ion batteries such as China BAK.
“We are pleased to work with Geoby Electric to support their efforts in delivering world-class electric bicycles to consumers,” Li said.
