The 25.8 MW Huitengxile windfarm in China’s Inner Mongolia is set to be the first project in to be registered under the Clean Development Mechanism in the country and is also the world’s first windfarm CDM project.

Huitengxile is owned by the Inner Mongolia Long Yuan Wind Power Development Co and is expected to receive approximately €2.75 million over the next 10 years from SenterNovem for certified emission reductions bought on behalf of the Dutch government.

The Huitengxile 22-turbine project employed UK renewable energy consultancy IT Power to assist in gaining CDM funding.
