In his new role, Mr Laymon will oversee Chevron’s human resources and medical functions worldwide. He succeeds Alan Preston, who is retiring from Chevron on April 30, 2008, after serving 35 years with the company.
Mr Laymon began his career with Xerox in 1979 and went on to hold a number of senior human resources jobs, including chief labor negotiator, over the course of 17 years. He then moved to the Eastman Kodak, where he held senior human resources positions.
