According to Reuters, China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) will have a 51% stake in the venture, while Chevron will hold the remaining 49%.
The firms stated that the gas block has proven reserves of 176 billion cubic meters of high-sulfur gas. Chevron will provide the technology needed to extract the gas, Reuters said.
