The contract has been awarded by Iberdrola Ingenieria y Construccion, which is managing the Nairobi Metropolitan Ring project.
It includes supply six 200 MVA, 220/66kV HV power transformers, circuit breakers, instrument transformers and lightning arresters.
The project is scheduled for completion by the end of 2014.
CG said that the power equipment will be installed at the new 220kV substations at Isinya, Suswa, Ngong, Athi River and Koma Rock.
The equipment will also feature in the existing Dandora substation, which is undergoing expansion.
The substation project is financed by Agence Francaise de Development (AFD) and the government of Kenya.
CG CEO and managing director Laurent Demortier said, "We are delighted that CG will play a pivotal role in Kenya Electricity Transmission Company’s initiative to upgrade Nairobi’s power transmission infrastructure and ensure power transmission reliability in this region.
"The order takes forward CG’s ongoing foray into Nairobi’s power infrastructure."
