Power utility CEZ has reportedly unveiled plans to construct a new gas-fired power plant in the Czech Republic.

Thomson Financial cited CEZ deputy board chairman Jiri Borovec as telling Hospodarske Noviny that the company is analyzing locations for the new plant. Although the location has not been finalized, it is believed that Usti nad Labem, located in the north of the country, is a possible choice.

Thomson Financial quoted Mr Borovec as saying: As for the location, preparation works are most advanced in…Usti nad Labem. In our initial analysis we are considering building 440MW gas-fired units.
