The Electricity Supply Board (ESB) said that it understands that the Commission for Energy Regulation (CER) intends to review the situation later in 2008.
The E300 million contribution announced by the ESB is expected to significantly abate any future price consideration.
The CER’s planned review in late 2008 will reportedly depend on how international fuel prices behave in the coming months. The ESB noted that the 17.5% increase in electricity prices is substantially less than the predicted rate of increase.
