Alstom is to develop two 400 MW gas-fired turbines in Spain along with long-term service and maintenance agreements.

The turnkey contract will see to Alstom two GT26 machines for Hc energia, a subsidiary of the EDP–Energias de Portugal group. One unit will be built at Castejon, Navarra, where Hc energia has another GT26 plant, the other unit will be built at Soto de Ribera, Asturias.

The corresponding contract, worth more than €450 million, is expected to be signed before the end of the month.
