US-based CBL & Associates Properties has forged a partnership with Tesla Motors to install Tesla Supercharging stations at its malls in the country.

Under the partnership, Tesla will install its Supercharging stations at five CBL Malls, including Gulf Coast Town Center in Fort Myers; The Pavilion at Port Orange in Port Orange; Alamance Crossing in Burlington; CherryVale Mall in Rockford and Imperial Valley in El Centro.

Commenting on the partnership, CBL Brand Development vice president Jim Ward said the company is one of the first national mall developers to enter into a long-term partnership with Tesla.

"We are confident that Tesla owners will appreciate the convenience of charging their vehicles at our well-located shopping centers that serve as the hub for shopping, dining, and entertainment in their communities," added Ward.

Tesla added that the Superchargers will provide half a charge in about 20 minutes and are strategically installed to allow owners to drive from station to station with minimal stops.

By the end of the summer 2013, Tesla is expected to have around 24 charging stations along the most popular routes across North America.
