Chicago Bridge & Iron (CB&I) has been awarded a project, valued in excess of $280m, by Occidental of Elk Hills for a new gas processing plant at the Elk Hills oil and gas field in central California.

CB&I’s scope of work includes the engineering, procurement and construction of the 200 million cubic foot per day natural gas processing plant, including fractionation, storage tanks and export pipelines.

In addition, the company’s Lummus Technology sector is providing the proprietary NGL-MaxSM recovery technology. The project is scheduled for completion in the first half of 2012.

CB&I designs, engineers and constructs energy infrastructure projects, providing a full spectrum of EPC services and process technologies. The company said that it executes more than 600 projects a year through its three business sectors: CB&I Lummus, CB&I Steel Plate Structures and Lummus Technology.
