The DMTO unit will produce 600,000 metric tonnes per annum (MTA) of ethylene and propylene, as well as some lower value n-butylenes. All of the n-butylenes and some of the recovered ethylene from the DMTO will be used in the OCT unit to produce 90,000 MTA of propylene.

Olefins (ethylene and propylene) are used as intermediates in the petrochemical industry to produce a variety of products, including plastics, fibers and rubber.
