CB&I has secured contract from a consortium led by BP for the development of South Caucasus Pipeline Expansion (SCPX) project in Caspian Sea.

The contract is claimed to be worth about $85m for CB&I.

The SCPX project is part of the stage 2 development of the Shah Deniz field located in the Azerbaijan sector of the Caspian Sea.

Through Azerbaijan and Georgia, the South Caucasus Pipeline will transport gas from the Shah Deniz field to Turkey.

CB&I engineering, construction and maintenance operating group president Patrick Mullen said, "This award builds on the successful relationship between CB&I and BP and is a testament of the customer’s confidence in our experience and ability to engineer this critical infrastructure."
