The site will contain 54 large panels, measuring 65 feet by 15 feet and each one will consist of 72 individual panels.

Person County Planning Director Paula Murphy said that Carolina Solar has “plans to expand in the future,” but to do so the company would have to “come back” to the board of commissioners.

Carolina Solar Vice President Jerry Dudzig told commissioners that a 20 year purchase agreement had been obtained from Progress Energy, Inc. to buy power produced by the facility.

Dudzig further continued that the site would be surrounded by fencing “similar to the fencing” at the Cambridge Hills facility.

“A three-board horse fence will surround the entire perimeter,” Dugzig said, adding that it would be “stained dark gray.”
