The Mission Wood waste & Recycling Centre (MWRC) plans to begin commercial operations in July 2010, accepting a variety of construction, demolition and wood waste materials delivered to the centre from within the Fraser Valley Regional District.
The MWRC site location has an 80ft scale to support any size truck and can accommodate up to 200,000 tonnes of waste materials annually.
PBI will sort, process and utilize the waste materials at the centre site location to produce re-usable engineered products including biomass briquettes, mixed blend fuels and yard fill, which will be marketed to energy companies, cement plants, combined heat and power facilities and landfill operators for daily cover.
A small percentage of unused materials collected such as metal, cardboard, tires and batteries will be sold or delivered to other recyclers.

“This has been a lengthy process and the granting of the permit is the first step in allowing PBI to generate revenues by accepting recyclable waste materials that the company can turn into re-usable, re-sellable engineered products.”
