As part of the deal, Capstone will provide two C800 natural gas fueled microturbines for Regatta to install at a Los Angeles hospital.
In addition, Regatta secured the second order for a Capstone C1000 natural gas microturbine to install at another hospital in Los Angeles.
The microturbines, which will be used in a CHP (combined heat and power) application, will offset the facility’s electric base load in addition to providing steam and hot water, noted Capstone.
Regatta Solutions vice president Kenda Burkhart said the market as a whole is realising that implementing clean and green CHP technology will deliver substantial improvements in their overall efficiency and reduce their facility’s operating expenses.
