Hitachi is the EPC contractor for the project, which is owned by Eurus Energy Holdings.
Canadian Solar will supply around 73,556 pieces of its 60 cell CS6P255P modules with power output of 255Wp for the project, which is to be built in an area of about 80 hectares.
The 18MW project, which is located in the boundary between Marumori-machit in Miyagi prefecture and Soma city in Fukushima prefecture, is expected to be in operation in March 2015.
Hitachi senior engineer Kosho Aikawa said that quality and reliability are key criteria for the company in selecting partners and suppliers.
