The two farms will have a combined installed capacity of 18.7MW with construction expected to commence in the middle of 2013.
Penn Energy Renewables spokesperson Sean McCloskey reiterated the company’s commitment to develop and operate utility-scale solar PV projects in the area.
"As a developer and long-term investor in solar PV projects, we were impressed with Canadian Solar’s full array of offerings, which include modules manufactured in Ontario, EPC services and the provision of long-term operations and maintenance services," said McCloskey.

development stage to full operation."
Canadian Solar Solutions, a subsidiary of Canadian Solar expects the farms to be fully operational within a year of the commencement of construction and will help reduce 432,000 metric tons in carbon emissions over a 20-year period.
