Gaz Métro, a Canada based natural gas distributor, has proposed the extension of the pipeline to further expand its distribution network and supply gas to the North Shore region of Quebec.
The North Shore extension project involves constructing a 450km pipeline from the city of Saguenay (Jonquière) to Sept-Îles crossing the city of Baie-Comeau and the town of Port-Cartier.
The project work also involves building structures and modifying existing plants.
The agency is seeking comments from public on the project and on the affects it might have on environment.
The last date for written comments is 22 October 2012.
