The city of Camarillo in the US state of California is set to install two electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at the Metrolink station in June.

The proposed EV charging stations will be financed through a $10,000 grant from the Ventura County Air Pollution Control District and $5,000 from Reconnect California, funded by the California Energy Commission and Clipper Creek, reports the vcstar.com.

Camarillo has to maintain and operate the charging stations for at least five years, while the maintenance and electricity costs are anticipated to be around $600 annually for both charging stations.

These charging stations, being installed at the Metrolink station at Lewis Road and Ventura Boulevard, will be available for free access.
