The K Road Calico Solar project is finalizing permits to build nearly 663.5MW of solar capacity, which consist of 563MW of solar photovoltaic (PV) technology and 100.5MW of Stirling-dish solar thermal technology (SunCatchers).
As part of the partnership, K Road Calico will implement certain measures to avoid or minimize the power project’s impacts on special status plants and wildlife, and state jurisdictional waters.
K Road Calico will also execute contracts for the sale of power to consumers in California.
K Road Calico will produce enough electricity to power nearly 497,000 homes and to avoid about 500,000 metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions on average during each year of its contract term.
K Road Calico’s construction partner will install both the planned PV and SunCatcher capacity at the project.
