Babcock & Wilcox Power Generation Group (B&W PGG) will design and supply the plant’s 100MW boiler, which features B&W’s AireJet burner, selective catalytic reduction system, dry flue gas desulfurization system and fabric filter baghouse.
Wygen-III is similar in design to the two previous projects B&W completed for Black Hills, the Wygen-I and II. The plant is expected to burn low-sulfur Powder River Basin coal.
Engineering on the project has begun at B&W PGG’s Barberton, Ohio, facility, with shipment of materials to begin in late-2008. Commissioning of the Wygen-III plant is slated for 2010.
