Toshiba Corp and Babcock & Wilcox Power Generation Group (B&W PGG) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance their cooperation on strategic project opportunities in power generation business.

Under the MoU, the companies will explore strategic, manufacturing, research and other opportunities in advanced supercritical thermal power and solar energy technologies around the world.

B&W PGG president and chief operating officer Richard Killion said that Toshiba and B&W look to develop a comprehensive strategy for the practical development of energy initiatives that contribute to their mutual goals.

The companies plan to establish specific working groups to examine the collaborative opportunities in the power generation industry.
