Under the contract, B&W will design, provide and install three selective non-catalytic reduction (SNCR) systems for nitrogen oxides control and an industrial baghouse for particulate emissions control.

The company will also provide foundations, structural steel and construction services for about $20m project.

The upgrade will help Ascend’s Decatur facility meet the State of Alabama’s best available retrofit technology environmental standards.

Engineering is underway, and work is scheduled to be completed in December this year.
