Consultant Black & Veatch (B&V) has been awarded a five year contract to review dam safety in Hong Kong.

The client, the Water Supplies Dept, wants the condition surveys and safety recommendations for 10 impounding reservoirs and 25 large service reservoirs.

In addition, under the contract B&V is also retained to provide advice on safety-related matters for all of the client’s reservoirs.

The B&V team for the contract is drawn from Hong Kong, UK and Australia. In a statement, the firm said it has been active in reservoir engineering in Hong Kong since the 1930s.
