It will be a long road yet, but likely hydro power projects in Myanmar, Burma are beginning to take shape.

Following a July 1997 MoU for Thailand to buy up 1500MW of power from Myanmar by 2010, three hydro and one natural gas projects have so far been identified.

The hydro projects are Nam Kok (55MW), Hutgyi (400MW) and Tasang (3600MW), according to the Thai National Energy policy Office.
