Goldwind USA has selected Broadwind Energy to supply approximately 70 wind turbine towers for its utility-scale Shady Oaks power project in Lee County, Illinois.

The towers and turbines are set for installation during the second half of this year.

Broadwind will produce the wind turbine towers at its Manitowoc facility in Wisconsin.

Broadwind president and CEO Peter Duprey said that flexibility, quality and customer focus have been a foundation of Broadwind’s tower business, which has enabled it to work with a diverse set of domestic and international customers.

Chicago-based Goldwind is a wholly owned subsidiary of wind turbine manufacturer Xinjiang Goldwind Science & Technology.
