Being constructed on a 14ha site near Winterborne Stickland in Dorset, the solar park will feature 35,600 260 watt panels.

The solar park can produce 8.7MW of electricity which is enough to meet the average annual demand of 2,700 typical UK households.

BSR managing director Angus Macdonald said: "We are delighted to be building on our relationship with Ingenious by embarking on our fourth solar park within a year."

Ingenious Clean Energy investment director Jeremy Milne said: "We are pleased to consolidate the burgeoning relationship with BSR and appreciate dealing with a high quality counterparty with an excellent delivery track record."

The Canada Farm Solar Park, which received planning permission in June 2014, is expected to be completed before the end of 2014.

The company started extensive and ongoing consultation with the local community and planning authorities in 2012 for the proposed solar park.
