Also, the company is expected to execute an existing MOU with CPI’s subsidiary, Huanghe Hydropower Development, to guide its cooperation with CPI and Huanghe.
As per the terms of the MOU with CPI, BrightSource will provide technology for the first commercial scale CSP project as part of the US-China Framework. The project will be installed as per the local conditions and requirements of China’s grid for stable output.
Huanghe is expected to overlook the development, construction and operation of the project.
With the CREEI, BrightSource will collaborate to address issues regarding efficient utilization of solar power including site selection criteria, applications for future projects, strategies for CSP cost reduction, personnel training and best practices.
BrightSource executive chairman David Ramm said that the CSP industry is witnessing significant growth in the global market and predominantly in the Chinese market.
"BrightSource looks forward to working with our partners in China to execute these MOU’s. In doing so, we will work to help establish industry best practices and grow a vibrant market for CSP," added Ramm.
"These agreements are validation of BrightSource’s power tower technology solution, which is embodied by the development of Ivanpah."
