Belo Monte project will be built along the Xingu river. The residents of the region are against the project ever since it was introduced as part of Brazil’s Accelerated Growth Program.
As the auctio has been delayed, Belo Monte may suffer delay in the construction. The project was scheduled to start production by 2014, but now the wait will be until 2015.
