New sale set to be larger than previous divestments

In its forthcoming transmission lines tender, Brazil plans to auction lines with a combined length of 3,500 km, well above the annual average of 2,828 km sold in recent years. Private companies bidding in consortia with state-owned companies or on their own, bought 72.5 pct of the 13,500 km in transmission lines auctioned off by the country over the past five years.
