The licensing process has been halted for projects including Sigma Energia’s proposed Foz do Saiju, Barra do Jaguari and Bela Vista in Mato Grosso do Sul state, reported Bloomberg, citing a statement on the public prosecutor’s website.

The licensing process is expected to resume following completion of impact studies by the company and submission of plans to compensate for any potential damage to the local area.

The $33m Foz do Saiju plant would have 20MW of electricity generation capacity while the $48.95m Barra do Jaguari project will have an generation capacity of 29.7MW.

However, the Bela Vista project details have not been provided to regulators.
