British oil titan BP is continuing to pursue expanded business joint ventures in the fields of petrol retailing and petrochemicals in China, a local partner has revealed.

According to a report from PetrolWorld, the head of Chinese oil outfit Sinopec has stated that his company is continuing talks with the British firm over potential business tie-ups between the two in Sinopec’s domestic market.

Discussions are still on but we might take some time, Sinopec chairman Chen Tonghai said, according to PetrolWorld.

BP has not confirmed any expansion talks with existing partner Sinopec, but spokesman David Nicholas has revealed that the British oil company is actively looking into further opportunities in China.
