The first agreement is for 75MW of power with Old Dominion Electric Cooperative and the second is for 30MW with Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative.

The Mehoopany wind farm will be located about 20 miles northwest of Scranton, Pennsylvania, and is expected to have a generating capacity of up to 144MW.

BP Wind Energy, which will own and operate the facility, will market the remaining capacity to other customers in the Northeast US merchant market.

Initial site construction work will begin in the fourth quarter of 2011, subject to receiving necessary permits.

The wind farm is anticipated to utilize about 90 units of GE 1.6MW turbine and is expected to begin full commercial operation in the fourth quarter of 2012.
