The scope of the contract includes, project management, engineering, and construction for extensive fabric maintenance works, tank-age, and process unit turnarounds. It will also involve handling other projects focused on improving the condition and reliability of the terminal.
BP Exploration is planning to spend up to $200m over four years on intervention work at the facility.
Jacobs Group vice president Bob Irvin said that the company will work in close collaboration with BP on this project to help drive increased performance at the Sullom Voe terminal.
"We look forward to using our local and global terminal experience to deliver the planned improvements to the terminal," Irvin added.
BP’s Sullom Voe terminal, which was built between 1975 and 1981, covers 1,000 acres. Its main purpose is to handle production from oilfields in the East and West of Shetland.
