The jack-up rig Sapphire Driller will drill the well to a total depth of about 3724m to appraise the Omicron discoveries found in the Sapele-1 exploration well.
The Sapele-2 well will penetrate both the Lower and Deep Omicron discoveries at a location around 5km south west of the Sapele-1 location.
The drilling of the well, which is located in the Etinde permit in water depths of about 25m, is expected to take between 50 and 60 days to complete.
