BP will take a 40% interest in each of the blocks located in the Barreirinhas and Ceará basins covering a total area of 2,113km².

Blocks BM-BAR-3 and BM-BAR-5 lie in the Barreirinhas basin in water depths ranging from 2,000m to 3,000m, while blocks BM-CE-1 and BM-CE-2 are located in the Ceará basin in water depths ranging from 100m to 2,200m.

On completion of the farm-in, BP will hold stakes in 14 blocks in Brazil.

Petrobras will partner with the UK firm in nine of the concession areas, which include the Xerelete field, BM-C-34 and BM-C-35 in the Campos basin; BT-PN-2 and BT-PN-3 in the Parnaíba basin; BM-BAR-3 and BM-BAR-5 in the Barreirinhas basin; and BM-CE-1 and BM-CE-2 in Ceará basin.
