In the midst of its sale of the Westinghouse US reactor manufacturing arm, British Nuclear Fuels (BNFL) has announced that it has sold its American nuclear clean-up company BNG America to EnergySolutions.
The sale also includes BNG America’s wholly-owned subsidiaries Manufacturing Sciences Corporation and BNG Fuel Solutions. EnergySolutions, based in Salt Lake City, Utah, is part of a larger transaction involving the combination of three US nuclear waste management companies – BNG America, Envirocare of Utah, and Scientech D&D. The BNG America sale is expected to be finalised in the next few weeks.
Rothschild and Sutherland, Asbill and Brennan acted as advisers to BNFL, commercial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
