To be built on Black & Veatch’s PRICO LNG technology, the facility will produce up to six million tons of gas per year for export.
The facility will include two 160,000m3, full-containment LNG storage tanks and marine facilities to berth and load about 90 LNG transport ships per year.
Impurities in the feed gas, which freeze at low temperatures, will be removed in two trains of gas conditioning and dehydration facilities.
The trains will process approximately one billion cubic feet per day, before being cooled to -260F.
Besides, the entire facility will get power and steam from a new 420MW natural gas fueled combined cycle, combustion turbine plant.
Black & Veatch said the integration of the facilities will increase the project’s energy efficiency and lower fuel gas consumption.
Planning phase for construction of the project is now underway pending FERC permit approval, which is expected in the third quarter of 2014.
During its construction period, the project is expected to create more than 900 jobs and reach a peak of 2,100 workers.
