Valued at around INR22 billion, the order for the gas turbine based combined cycle power plant (CCPP) to be installed at Pallatana in the Udaipur district of Tripura, has been placed on Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) by the ONGC Tripura Power Company.
On commissioning, the project is expected to transform the power scenario of the entire northeastern region of India and act as a catalyst for rapid economic development in the region.
The order comprises two combined cycle modules of 363.3MW each, with a gross plant output of 726.6MW. While the first block will be completed in 42 months, the second block is slated for completion in a tight schedule of 45 months, considering the critical transportation route through the northeastern states of India.
