Cumulatively valued at around INR21 billion, these contracts have been placed on Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) by the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) for setting up the 2x500MW steam generator and steam turbine generator packages at the Mauda thermal power project (STPP), located in the Nagpur district of Maharashtra.
According to BHEL, these new generating units ware expected to add 24 million units every day to the national power grid on commissioning.
BHEL’s scope of work in the contracts involves design, engineering, manufacture, supply and erection and commissioning of steam generators and turbine generators along with associated auxiliaries, electrostatic precipitators, and controls and instrumentation.
Key equipment for the contracts will be manufactured at BHEL’s plants in Haridwar, Trichy, Ranipet, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Bhopal and Jhansi.
