The contract is for the supply of a 20-megawatt (MW) Steam Turbine Generator (STG) for the set-based captive power plant with a gas/oil fired boiler of 150 tons per hour capacity. The project is an extension of the existing captive power plant.
The company’s scope of work includes design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection and commissioning of the captive power plant.
For the project, the equipment would be supplied from the company’s plants at Bhopal, Hyderabad, Ranipet, Trichy, and Electronics Division at Bangalore. The erection and commissioning of the plant would be carried out by its power sector, Eastern Region, Kolkata.
BHEL offers units from 10MW onwards for both steam turbine-based and gas-based combined cycle power projects for total power and process steam requirements of various industries. The company has supplied and commissioned around 700 steam turbine and gas turbine-based plants for various industries, such as, metal, paper, sugar, cement and process industries like refineries, petrochemicals and fertiliser among others, in domestic and overseas markets.
