To be located on the Zeravshan River, the project will look to tap into the country’s hydro electric potential employing BHEL’s techno-economic solutions.
The agreement between Tajikistan and BHEL furthers their current partnership that seeks to help the country exploit its hydro electric resources.
Tajikistan boasts of 4% of the world’s hydro resources and had earlier employed BHEL’s services for commissioning a hydro generator for Pamir-1 project in Khorog and renovating & upgrading the Varzob-1 Hydro Power Project.
BHEL has a strong presence in the Central Asian and CIS region with projects executed in Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan and Ukraine.
