The first two units, each with 600MW of generation capacity, of the Jindal Power’s expansion project were commissioned in March 2014.

For the same customer, BHEL has earlier executed four units of 250MW each at OP Jindal Super Thermal Power Plant (STPP) at Raigarh.

Under the current contract, BHEL will install four units of 600MW each in this extension stage of OP Jindal STPP, Raigarh.

BHEL’s scope of work in the contract envisages design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of boilers, steam turbines, turbo-generators and associated auxiliaries and electrical, as well as controls & instrumentation (C&I) and electrostatic precipitators (ESPS).

Till date, the company is under contract to deliver a total of 21 sets of 600MW units, of which nine have already been commissioned.
