The unit was commissioned at Dainik Bhaskar Power (DBPL)’s upcoming 2x600MW thermal power project located at Dhabra in Janjgir Champa District of Chhattisgarh.
The first 600MW unit of the project was commissioned in 2014 a part of a contract awarded earlier by Dainik Bhaskar Power to BHEL.
Under the contract, BHEL is responsible for the design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection and commissioning of steam turbines, generators and boilers for the power plant.
The company will provide associated auxiliaries and electricals, as well as advanced controls & instrumentation (C&I) and electrostatic precipitators (ESPs), as part of the contract.
BHEL has been a partner in the Chhattisgarh’s power development program.
