Bharat Heavy Electricals (Bhel) has commissioned 500MW unit-13 of Vindhyachal super thermal power station, stage-V in Singrauli in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.

With this commissioning, the total capacity of the NTPC-operated coal-fired power plant increases to 4,760MW, including seven 500MW units and six 210MW units.

Bhel’s Power Sector – Western Region unit commissioned the equipments, which were manufactured at the company’s facilities in Haridwar, Uttarakhand; Hyderabad, Telangana; Bangalore, Karnataka; Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh; and Trichy and Ranipet, Tamil Nadu.

For the fiscal 2015-16, Bhel has so far commissioned 2,480MW power plants. The company has also commissioned 76 sets of 500MW units across the country.

Bhel manufactures, and commissions various products for power, transmission, industry, transportation, renewable energy, oil and gas and defense sectors.
